The Backwards Atlantic Division
As expected there is a Pennsylvania team atop the Atlantic Division and one at the very bottom of the division. But to everyones surprise the Flyers are the bottom dweller and the Penguins are riding high. That is just the start of the upside down Atlantic Division.
-The Pens, well its an understatement to say they look good. The youngsters in Crosby, Malkin, Staal, and Fleury have all been better than expected. My worry is they are looking at a crash back down to earth at some point.
(Side note: Malkin might be better than Crosby)
-Brodeur looks old and slow, and the Devils can not score a goal to save their lives.
-The Islanders look competitive even with a mad man running the team.
-The Rangers are getting everything they wanted from Shanahan, Nylander, and Jagr, but nothing from anyone else.
-Last the Flyers, slow D, old players, fired coach, a GM that stepped down, placed 3 of their "talented" players on waivers already. This team has more problems than a calculus textbook. Can they come back from this? Maybe, but only if they turn the ship around now, not next month.
Yes, the top 4 teams are only separated by 2 points and its only 8-9 games into the season. But even this early some teams have shown that they are a force, and some have shown they are in ruins.
